POSITION OVERVIEW
The Engineering Services Manager is responsible for the daily management of plant maintenance activities, including breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance, plus implementation. This position maintains production equipment in operating condition to minimize production downtime and maintains plant utilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Improve plant safety performance through active participation in the plant safety process and ensuring entire maintenance department actively participates. Ensure safety incidents are investigated and corrective actions are implemented.
Implementing, executing and utilizing a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system – Maintelligence) to manage work order creation and execution and to help manage daily activities.
Daily Management of plant maintenance activities, including breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance, plus implementation. Maintain production equipment in operating condition to minimize production downtime. Maintain plant utilities (cooling towers, chillers, etc.).
Responsible for upkeep of facilities, buildings, and grounds.
Manage plant capital budget and oversee project implementation
Work with Human Resources and Plant Manager to ensure appropriate staffing level. Responsible for career development and performance review of direct reports.
Responsible for cost control and cost reduction within Maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
BS or higher degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance roles in a manufacturing environment. Experience in chemical manufacturing highly preferred. Experience with operations involving hazardous materials preferred.
Experience managing hourly personnel in a manufacturing environment - preferably in union environment
Ability to teach and coach direct reports as well as convey knowledge to peers and site leadership
