About the opportunity
The Financial Analyst supports the Sales & Marketing (herein referred to as “S&M”) functions through budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. In addition to partnership with S&M leaders, this role will be responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting and analytics, offer data-driven insights and recommendations and ensure functional expenses are recorded timely and accurately in the general ledger. This role will also maintain and develop reporting, identify risks and opportunities, and work with expense owners to achieve operational objectives while adhering to financial targets.
What you’ll get to do
Responsible for monthly reporting, financial analysis, and developing presentations to communicate financial results.
Transact financial and statistical journal entries with an understanding of impacts to the general ledger.
Perform management reporting and variance analysis in support of month and quarter-end closes.
Lead the coordination, roll-up and communication of monthly results to functional leaders.
Generate insights into business performance to help drive improved financial results and facilitate fact-based decision-making.
Develop key analytical metrics and generate new reporting to improve financial transparency and support productivity initiatives.
Create a budget for short-range, mid-range and long-range planning, and communicate it effectively to relevant business partners.
Continuously look for ways to automate tasks, allowing the function to scale as the business grows.
Refine performance metrics to evaluate S&M ROI and help inform S&M investment.
Develop and maintain knowledge of various financial and reporting systems, namely NetSuite and OneStream.
Ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as required.
Skills and experience we value
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration is required with 2+ years related financial analysis or accounting experience
Demonstrate technical proficiency in Excel and financial systems
Forecasting and budget experience preferred
A sound understanding of finance and accounting principles
Strong quantitative/analytical skills with ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing, with management and business process owners
Must be very detail oriented
