Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Software organization develops the next generation medical technologies that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life for millions of patients across the world.

Our Software is developed with state of the art, industry standard technologies and used by Clinicians and Patients worldwide. As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cardiac Rhythm Management Organization, you will be delivering post-market support for mobile software applications which interface with Medtronic implantable cardiac devices and remote management of patients.

The CRM team develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.

We are looking for highly motivated and self-starting strong software engineers looking forward to innovating in a fun and fast paced environment with a passion to improve peoples’ quality of life. The individual will operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development process.

The ideal candidate is a software engineer with full software development lifecycle knowledge, understanding of strategies for mobile application release planning, familiar with development and testing, and distribution, along with experience creating project deliverables in the medical device industry.

This position is in Mounds View, MN within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) operating unit and requires on-site presence three days a week.

A Day in the Life:

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior Software Engineer role. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Work with local team as well as offshore teams performing verification test and quality assurance activities such as planning and review
Technical leader review of verification and other deliverables for software releases
Assist with occasional small amount of manual test execution but expect little to no software code or test development activities
Work with project management to define software release scope and schedule
Support deployment and release of software to mobile application stores as needed
Follow software application development procedures and demonstrate compliance through technical documentation generation
Work is performed with minimal direction and collaboratively with internal and external partners located across various geographies

Qualifications-

MUST HAVE - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant technical experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of technical experience

Nice to Have

Mobile application experience, especially post-market/released software experience
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency working in a team environment
Strong knowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices
Experience in software design for medical devices
Demonstrated skills in writing engineering documentation
