BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily operational needs of the terminal to ensure that the company and customer’s needs are met.
Operate D-9 and/or D-10 Dozers equipped with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and distribute petroleum from storage to re-claimer, from processing units/pit to storage in a safe and efficient manner.
Operates heavy equipment to gouge out, level, and distribute petroleum coke from inbound conveyors, storage and to outbound conveyors.
Operate Bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade.
Operate Front End Loader, Bobcat, Manlift, Track Hoe, and/or Forklift.
Operate Overhead Gantry Crane and/or Bridge Crane.
Understand inspection procedures and complete inspection report on equipment.
Maintain all mobile and stationary equipment by performing preventive maintenance, i.e.: lubricating, cleaning, greasing, adding gear lubricants and other minor maintenance and repairs; document all activity performed.
General clean-up of product through the use of a Bobcat, shovels, or water hose; Clean and perform basic housekeeping duties.
Train and perform rail operation duties based on location including, but not limited to: switching, loading, and unloading railcars.
Train and perform other operational duties based on location including, but not limited to: ship loader duties, conveyor operations, and cutting and drilling duties.
Assist coworkers and maintenance crew on various jobs.
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements include:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
Prior experience as a heavy equipment operator is preferred, but we will train all qualified applicants.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficient in reading policies and procedures and written work orders.
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally.
Must work schedule as assigned and overtime with little to no notice during the week, weekends, holiday, etc. as needed for operational needs.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC:
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations.
Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).

Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, reach, etc. for extended periods of time.
