Job Description

The Control Room Controller is responsible for the safe and consistent, 24/7 operations of all North American NGL Water Solutions’ disposal facilities and pipeline assets. The Control Room Operator controls and monitors all facility activities and communicates and dispatches urgent matters as needed. The Control Room Operator is the main point of contact between field personnel, management, first responders, and customers; ensuring safe, uninterrupted, and optimized business operations.        

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Remotely control and monitor system operations, alarms, video surveillance, and communications of salt water disposal, solids disposal, and pipeline systems.
Recognize and respond to abnormal conditions on operating systems, subsystems, and supporting infrastructure and assets.
Maintain process safety awareness across all NGL systems and facilities.
Interpret SCADA, HMI, systems and visualizations to make informed operational decisions and/or actions.
Respond to and dispatch alarms by priority in a timely manner and follow Alarm Management response guidelines.
Evaluate and respond to emergency and non-emergency phone calls and initiates action or emergency response, as appropriate.
Conduct a complete and thorough shift turnover of operations prior to a relief controller assuming responsibility of control room operations.
Interact with customers and field personnel to dispatch incoming production water loads to facilities.
Dispatch, track, and record oil sales.
Generate, interpret, and communicate reports as needed.
Maintain a recurring daily shift record of events as it relates to operations and field facility/pipeline activities.
Take action to ensure maintenance requirements are addressed, dispatched, and resolved.
Communicate to all levels of the organization regarding urgent operational matters.
Regular attendance at the worksite is required. 

Position Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have exceptional communication skills and demonstrated ability to think during emergencies conditions.
Understanding of oil field logistics, operations, and personnel.
Understanding of facility automation and operations.
Must maintain a high level of mental alertness and situational awareness and be capable of quickly processing and reacting to incoming information from multiple field sensors and systems.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Knowledge of the Ignition SCADA platform a plus.
Must be able to visually monitor several computer screens in a control room environment for twelve (12) hour rotating shifts.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong ability to interact with all levels of management and non-management.
Ability to be available 24/7 with quick response during call outs.
Fluent with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work in a small team environment.
Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs preferred.
Experience with computer networking preferred.

Experience/Education:

Associates degree in a relevant field required. Bachelors degree preferred.
8-10 years in the oil and gas/energy industry strongly preferred.
1-2 years working in a control room strongly preferred.
1-2 years of experience working with SCADA systems and Automation technologies strongly preferred.
Valid Driver's License required.

Travel:

Negligable travel time.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

This position is required to be performed at the work site during regularly scheduled hours.  Physical presence at the work site is required. 

The actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in NGL’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, skill set, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the role.

A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
