Union Pacific Railroad Company is looking to fill a Systems Engineer position in Omaha, NE. May telecommute up to 50% of work time. As part of the Tech team, the Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to build world class applications specializing in complex rail-centric multi-modal shipments and will contribute to improving the customer, carrier, and employee experience in applications across the entire quote to cash domain. This position will be working on the customer and carrier facing applications within Loup's new digital ecosystem.

Accountabilities
Design and develop solutions for Loup Applications.
Demonstrate subject-matter expertise in front-end development by quickly developing highly usable applications.
Work closely with Loup product owners and user experience teams in an agile environment to incrementally release new applications to support company growth.
Work as a part of a larger team to assist in meeting project goals.
Work with other team members to assist in meeting project goals through understanding applications and problem solving.
Participate in code reviews and collaborate with team members to facilitate solutions.
Formulate tests and contribute to continuous integration structure.
Provide 24x7 production support and troubleshoot business problems.
Qualifications - Required
A bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, or a related field.
5 years of progressive experience in a software/systems development or a related occupation.
5 years of experience developing modern responsive web applications.
5 years of experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design.
3 years of experience of Java (v.8 minimum).
2 years of experience of JavaScript programming.
2 years of experience in Angular & TypeScript.
Experience with REST principles and methods.
Experience with Unix/Linux.
Proven verbal and written communication skills.
Able to interpret business requirements.
Skilled experience with unit test coverage.
Knowledge of common software design patterns.
Proven problem solving skills.
Must pass background check investigation and medical review.
