Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer - Excavator Hydraulic Systems for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will...

Provide technical leadership and mentoring for the Deere Global Excavator Hydraulics Team located in the USA, India, China, and Brazil.

Be responsible for developing and maintaining technical relationships with critical global suppliers.

Design ownership of major hydraulic components (main control valves, pumps, motors) and systems

Interface cross functionally with powertrain, electrical, structures, performance, controls, and automation teams to ensure optimal hydraulic and vehicle performance.

What Skills You Need

5 or more years of hydraulic system and component design experience

Excellent organizational and communication skills to facilitate activities with supply management, quality, Product Verification and Validation (PV&V), suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Prior work experience demonstrating strong leadership skills.

Demonstrated experience through several Product Development programs (PDP).

Ability and willingness to travel, up to 25% domestic or internationally. 

What Makes You Stand Out

Experience designing future generation hydraulic systems.

Design experience including main control valves (spool design), pumps, motors, gearboxes (swing and track drives), cylinders, and plumbing.

Experience optimizing control system parameters to achieve optimal hydraulic performance (tuning).

Previous successful project management and leadership skills.

Experience with engineering data analysis tools and dynamic systems modeling.

Previous project leadership experience through Integration Lead roles

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
