HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT AT UCAR
Here is a brief outline of what one would expect to be responsible for in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Banquet Server: Assists with set-up and service of events
Provides excellent customer service
Reviews menus in conjunction with UCAR Food Service personnel, assures that hot and cold appetizers are served at appropriate temperatures, and oversees set-up and replenishment of food trays on time.
May assist UCAR Food Service personnel with last-minute preparation of hot and cold food items and beverages
Works with others to set up and take down food
service tables and banquet areas
Assures that food items are replenished in a timely manner
Sets up plates, eating utensils, and glassware. Provides guests with food and drink selection
Removes used plates, eating utensils, and glassware. At the end of the event, works with others to clean up the banquet service area and return unused food portions to storage
Completes other duties as assigned.
Dishwasher: Operates automatic dishwashing machine to clean and dry dishes and hand wash necessary items.
Food Prep Assistant. Assists with basic food preparation such as cutting, chopping, and food assembly. Handles all food including perishables and Potentially Hazardous food (PHF's) in a safe and timely manner.
May unload cars, clean cafeteria tables on a daily basis, refill salt and peppers, and stock front line cooler.

Education & Experience
Experience in food preparation and/or banquet service in a restaurant or other hospitality-related operation.
2 years of high school math and English, or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work evenings and weekends on an on-call basis when provided with sufficient notice.
Ability to represent the Casual Food Service Pool to guests graciously and courteously.
Dependability and punctuality.
Ability to work well in a customer-oriented, pressure-packed, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to work individually and as a member of a team.
Ability to adhere to standard practices in food safety, sanitation, and service.
Strong oral communication skills.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Skill in basic math computations and reading to read recipes, compute food portions, and serving sizes, and estimate quantities of food needed for the expected number of guests.
Efficient food preparation skills. Adept at hand processing and in using equipment such as the dish machine, slicers, steamers, different types of ovens, grills, choppers, etc.
