Join Takeda as a Sr. Specialist, SmartSupplies, Inventory Management where you will support Pharmaceutical Sciences through inventory (Drug Substance, Drug Product, Cell Bank, etc.) management using SmartSupplies, vendor relationship management, as well as coordinating activities around storage and inventory movement of clinical/development material. You will also work independently to track Global (US/EU/APAC) Pharmaceutical Sciences SmartSupplies requests to ensure timely completion of data needs/movements. As part of the CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization) Relationship Management, you will report to Director, CDMO Relationship Management.
How you will contribute:
Be a Pharmaceutical Sciences subject matter expert and contact for SmartSupplies and transactions.
Collaborate with Global Clinical Supply Chain for Master Data requests and global Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharm Sci) teams on program level inventory transactions.
Confirm accuracy of SmartSupplies inventory on a bi-annual basis against actual inventory at storage sites using SmartSupplies reports.
Manage storage and movement of GMP and non-GMP materials (clinical cell banks, DS, DP, intermediates, etc.) in storage locations external to Takeda.
Coordinate and execute domestic and international shipments in collaboration with internal technical teams, Takeda R&D Import/Export, and external vendor teams.
Manage Pharm Sci external storage vendor strategy and critical vendor relationships.
Manage inventory storage master contracts, statements of work, projects, and purchase orders to ensure needs of project teams are met promptly and risk is considered.
Ensure all storage contacts and purchase orders are compliant with Pharm Sci program/function budgets with input from R&D Finance.
Collaborate with personnel across key global functions (SMPD, BPD, DPDD, Quality, etc.) to ensure accurate inventory and manage any temperature excursions as they occur.
Collaborate with PS CDMO Managers, Procurement, and Finance.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
BS/BA or equivalent degree
2-5 years of operations related experience in pharmaceutical development and/or medical device development, and GMP manufacturing
1-3 years of direct experience with SmartSupplies PMD
Knowledge of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, and must demonstrate knowledge of several allied fields, such as inventory management and shipping/logistics.
Collaborate with global team members and external storage vendors, taking into account geographic and cultural differences. Influence and guide stakeholders towards the accomplishment of goals and objectives
Exceptional time management skills and ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently with minimal oversight, project management, and organizational skills.
Ability to identify risks to multiple ongoing activities and propose appropriate risk response strategies.
Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely to key stakeholders, document issues and/or concerns concisely and comprehensively, and adjust style, language and/or terminology appropriate for the audience.
Proficient in Excel
Willingness to travel to various meetings or supplier sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required.
Requires approximately 5-10% travel.
