SUMMARY

The Manager of Dispatch plays an integral role in executing the strategic vision of Transportation and Physical Operations organization. The incumbent will be a key leader in building a world-class dispatch team and operation. The incumbent will optimize and implement logistics solutions to drive business results, continuous improvement, and growth.

This position is Monday - Friday, day time hours. You will be responsible for PTO coverage 7 days a week and have a phone that needs to be available 24/7.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee all of dispatch. 

Take customer phone calls.

Approve driver vacation time.  

Work with third party vendors to complete fuel load orders 

Control keep-full inventory. 

Strategically sort through loads and set them up with drivers for delivery. 

Remain on-call 24/7 to solve problems. 

Assist in generating and analyzing the budget and P&L reports. 

Deliver best in class service to our customers, creating a ‘customer first’ culture.

Delivery of operational KPIs.

Optimize resources and assets to deliver commercial volume budget.

Deliver improvement in operational performance and asset efficiency.

Inspire, coach and lead operation including direct reports, indirect reports to deliver improved operational performance.

Ensure colleague safety is paramount and a culture which becomes the norm.

Build and manage key relationships with peers and internal stakeholders.

Harvest a healthy and conducive environment and culture which acts as a platform for high performance.

Encourage and develop colleagues cross-functionally to succeed and grow into high performing individuals and teams.

Work collaboratively across US Land with key stakeholders to drive the business forward.

SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in Business/Logistics or equivalent experience is preferred.

Must have adequate communication, writing, multitasking, and organization skills.

Must be detail-oriented to ensure all mistakes are caught.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be resourceful and use commonsense when problem solving.

Must have customer service training and skills.  

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Ability to make various mathematical calculations and understand the impact of various pricing options to the overall profitability of the company.

Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
