Description
The Gas Accounting Analyst is responsible for accounting for natural gas volumes purchased, sold, exchanged, stored and transported by Commercial Gas Marketing using the TPT system. This position works directly with the Commercial Gas traders and schedulers, external customer’s and numerous groups within the finance organization. This role is also responsible for coordinating and calculating monthly pool prices while serving as a key pool price contact as needed.

Your responsibilities may include:
Actualize, analyze and account for natural gas volumes purchased, sold, exchanged, stored and transported by Commercial Gas
Settlements corresponding to Gas purchases and sales by working directly with external customers to ensure accurate accounting and cash exchange for gas activity
Exposure working with Commercial Gas traders and schedulers, Financial Services, Treasury Services, Contract Admin, other Commercial Gas & Derivatives Accounting functions and External Customers
Lead the monthly pool price process while serving as a key contact to help investigate and resolve issues and questions that arise related to pool price methodology and calculations
Prepare and analyze monthly pool prices for Financial Services
Reconcile Gas Accounting balance sheet accounts monthly ensuring outstanding items are resolved timely
Develop and manage strong working relationships with traders, schedulers and F&PA Analyst
Basic/Required:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, other related business field, other related technical field, or foreign equivalent
3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance function
Preferred:
3+ years of energy industry experience
1+ years of experience working with SAP and TriplePoint CXL trading system (or other trading systems)
Strong organizational, analytical & problem-solving skills
Excellent social skills/team player; customer service orientation
Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and seek advice where appropriate to achieve results
Demonstrate a willingness and aptitude to challenge existing process’ while identifying and implementing improvements
Ability to communicate effectively in an inclusive manner with others regardless of their level, culture or role in the organization
