Job Description

This internship will be located in Lexington, KY.  The candidate will be exposed to the dynamic and challenging field of marketing and technical sales in the aerospace and defense industry.  Intern will gain experience in developing innovative solutions to enhance sales, build customer relationships and drive productivity improvements.  Must have strong interpersonal as well as technical skill set.

Responsibilities

Research and study current processes with the goal of creating standard work for the inside sales team
Assist with inquiries from customers via e-mail, phones, and quotation request system.
Assist customers in selecting the best product for a given application and the design of their products to maximize service life.
Document product application successes and develop internal training materials.
Conduct market research.
Interpret and understand customer drawings, requirements, and specifications and make recommendations of Parker products.
Willingness to learn new skills.
Support field sales as required to maintain a premier customer service position.

Qualifications

Junior/Senior level during 2023-2024 school year in BS/BA Engineering or related field.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, along with excellent organization skills.
Proficiency in MS office—Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand, describe, or discuss problems of a technical nature.
Experience with sales software and work instructions preferred.
Prefer experience interacting with customers.
