POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparation of monthly account reconciliations, preparation of journal entries, and analysis of general ledger accounts to support monthly financial statement close process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepare accounting entries to support accurate and timely financial statements
· Assist the Controller in month end closing, closing journal entries, accrual accounting and financial schedule preparation
· Review, reconcile, and analyze specific general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
· Maintain fixed assets ledger
· Perform variance analysis on revenue and expense accounts and report findings to management
· Monitor and analyze assigned transactions for accuracy and completeness
· Prepare accruals and reserves to ensure that revenue and expenses are properly recognized in the appropriate accounting period
· Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for review and analysis
· Interact with the regional managers on inventory, maintenance parts and capital expenditures
· Assist in the valuation of fixed assets for acquired sites and related purchase accounting items
· Prepare schedules for annual audit
· Maintain ongoing compliance with GAAP principles, internal controls and providing technical support and guidance
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, macros, what-if analysis, data mining
· Detail-oriented and proactive problem-solving skills
· Motivated, self-directed, and results-driven approach to work, takes ownership of assigned tasks to drive them to completion
· Capable of establishing effective working relationships that promote teamwork and collaboration
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's Degree with major in Accounting required
· 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
· CPA Preferred
