Position Summary:
The Centralized Publications Technical Writer edits and writes content for the JetBlue manual system and distributes publications to targeted Crewmembers. All work is done using Centralized Publications authoring tools and the distribution repository. All publications are maintained to established standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
Writes, edits and updates written content for company manuals.
Reviews and edits technical policy and procedural documents, ensuring that the documents are logically constructed, clearly presented, and in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards as stated.
Acquires and presents information through independent reading, interviews with subject-matter experts, online research, or other appropriate methods.
Independently develops, organizes, and presents thoughts and information clearly in writing.
Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation.
Consults with Supervisor Operations Publications on unique situations which do not have clear precedents.
Tracks project status using departmental procedures and tools
Takes on other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Excellent, proven technical and business writing, editing, interpersonal, and communication skills
One (1) year technical writing experience
Understanding of XML and/or HTML
Excellent Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills
Ability to contribute in a team environment and work on several projects simultaneously
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in English or communications
Excellent, proven technical and business writing, editing, interpersonal, and communication skills
Four (4) years technical writing experience
XML and/or HTML proficiency
Excellent Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat skills
Content management system experience
Experience working in a regulatory environment
Communication design experience
Airline industry experience

Regular attendance and punctuality
Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is between $50,000.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
