Summary

The Product Management Intern will dive in and tackle problems facing our customers and our business. They will evaluate problems, talk with customers and internal stakeholders, propose and refine solutions, and work with our development team to build and release solutions. We have Product Management roles with focuses in our industries, in technology, and for generalists.

The Product Management Intern will be fully immersed in our R&D team, focused on discovering and solving problems that face our customers and our business. We expect them to identify problems, talk with customers and internal stakeholders, propose and refine solutions, and work with our development team to build and release software. The Product Management Intern will own the feature development process for at least one feature during the internship and will collaborate directly with design, engineering, business stakeholders and customers throughout the process. The Product Management Intern will also partner directly with another Workiva Product Manager in their product area who will guide and support them throughout the internship.

Responsibilities

Lead feature development for at least one feature from concept to launch
Contribute to the quarterly planning process by helping to define your product area's future-looking strategy and near-term priorities
Interview and survey Workiva customers to understand their needs and identify themes
Analyze customer usage data to make data-driven decisions about features and priority
Build strong working relationships across engineering, design, delivery management, and business teams
Serve as an advocate for your customers and hold a very high bar for building a high quality product

What You'll Need

Education

Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.

Education

Currently enrolled in first year of an MBA program or similar graduate program

Experience

2 years of work experience
Experience in SaaS or in a similar industry preferred
Examples of owning and delivering a major project or program

Skills

Leadership skills - proven ability to influence and inspire your team
A self-starter mindset to execute in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction
A strong ability to develop and communicate product vision to your team, peers, and stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively in an environment that promotes constant team communication
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills

Optional Skills

High-level understanding of ML workflows, ML Ops
Ability to perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, formulate hypotheses.
Strong interest in ML & Data Science.
Strong interest in Web and Cloud technologies
Has worked on the development of a data-centric or ML-centric software product.
Has worked in Software Development
Degree in Computer Science/Engineering
