The HR Intern will support the HR department in functions such as record retention, scanning and filing documents and HRIS maintenance. The HR Intern will be required to work independently on administrative and HR support projects. This position will afford the candidate exposure to various HR functions including record retention, recruitment, and assisting in some employee relations support functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains scanning and filing of HR documents for record retention project.
Provides basic support for HR inquiries, forwarding complex questions to the appropriate party.
Assist the non-exempt recruiting team with scheduling in person interviews, posting jobs for our vacant roles, and other support duties.
Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, providing the necessary paperwork, entering data within the company’s HRIS system, and communicating with employees.
Assists supervisor in special projects, supports in some employee relations or recruitment functions as assigned.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Must be successfully enrolled in a cooperative education program pursuing a Bachelor or Associates degree in Human Resources or other relevant field.

Qualifications and Skills:

1-3 years’ experience in administrative function or relevant experience preferred.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite such as Word and Excel.
Experience with Workday, Dayforce or other HRIS is a plus.
