Midland Basin

ConocoPhillips holds approximately 376,000 total net acres in the Midland Basin, which includes approximately 266,000 unconventional net acres located in the heart of West Texas. Following the Concho acquisition, the company now operates over 2,200 vertical wells and 930 horizontal wells across Midland, Upton, Andrews, Martin, and Glasscock counties. Heritage company Concho began horizontal development drilling in 2013, primarily through single-well pads without offsets-focused on the Wolfcamp B formation. Today’s focus is on full-scale development utilizing large multi-well pad projects targeting both Spraberry and Wolfcamp reservoir targets. Net production in 2021 averaged 136 MBOED, with approximately 70% of production from liquids.

Description

If you are selected as the Compressor Technician, you will work with the Gas Lift Foreman for Midland Basin South and be a meaningful member of the team. You will oversee all new compressor site construction, installation and startup as part of a team prioritizing safety above all else.

This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

Your responsibilities may include:

Assuring safe and environmentally compliant operations of all company owned or rental compressors
Training to support that all shut downs and safety devices are in place and functional
Supporting the preparation, installation, and startup of new company owned or rental compressors
Supporting and overseeing all new compressor site construction, layout, and piping needs
Training to support all sites meet or exceed environmental laws, rules, and regulations
Monitoring and optimize existing units
Recognizing opportunities for increased efficiency and recommending units for replacement or alternate lift and work with operations engineer to manage changes
With operations engineer, setting up tracking tools to analyze and document all compressor related performance metrics such as runtime, mechanical availability, fuel consumption, throughput, and environmental compliance
Assisting pumpers and production foremen with compressor related issues
Serving as field “point of contact” for compressor vendor
Documenting all incidents or abnormal operations to supervisor
Coordinating with operations engineer to specify operating conditions and evaluate vendor proposals for new installations; ensuring all approvals are acquired for new rental or purchase agreements
Perform weekly inspections on new company owned or rental compression
Assist production foreman on setting up operators with alarms working with the compression vendors
Complete weekly and monthly reports as specified on area assigned too and turn into Gas Lift/Compression Foreman

Basic/Required:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as a permanent resident, refugee or asylee
Current/valid driver's license
5+ years of experience in a mechanical position
Intermediate level of knowledge of compressor operation, maintenance, and repair

Preferred:

Intermediate level of experience in the upstream energy industry
Intermediate level of experience working in a fast paced organization requiring multitasking
Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
