Lilly Neuroscience is seeking an associate-level computational scientist to join the Pain and Migraine discovery biology group to facilitate its mission of discovering novel medicines for the treatment of Chronic Pain Conditions. You should be passionate about cutting edge computational approaches for understanding the neurobiology of pain, including the integration of multi-omic data, the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence, and the analysis and visualization of complex datasets. You should possess an exceptional attention to scientific detail, a keen interest in understanding pathophysiology of chronic pain, and be highly collaborative within the lab and across the group. Your Key Responsibilities Might Include:

Collaborating with cross-functional teams from basic research and clinical development to support drug discovery and development strategies through analyses of external and internal omics data.
Applying innovative computational methods to multiscale genomics and molecular profiling data in chronic pain. Participate in experimental design, genomic data generation and analyses to influence the discovery of novel pain targets and patient biomarkers.
Participating in research to interrogate the molecular heterogeneity of chronic pain mechanisms. Collaborate with academic and medical experts to build internal knowledge of the molecular basis of chronic pain.
Collaborating with other informatics scientists and statisticians around data analysis methods and solutions for automated workflows, database creation, and data visualization.

Basic Qualifications:     

BS and/or MS in a relevant field such as bioinformatics, biostatistics, biomedical informatics, or a related discipline.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

1+ years of relevant experience is desired
Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python and R.
Experience in computational methods for genomic and genetic data analysis
Experience in managing, processing and analyzing data from one or more NGS platforms such as whole genome sequencing, exome sequencing, RNA-Seq, single cell sequencing, ATAC-Seq, ChIPSeq, and expression, genotyping, and methylation arrays. Expertise with publicly and commercially available bioinformatics tools for NGS analysis and genetics and genomics databases. Experience with machine learning and/or artificial intelligence methods.
Industry experience in pharmaceutical or biotech setting highly desirable
Experience with high performance cluster computing queuing systems such as SGE or condor.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, and a record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals
