About this role:
The Broker Dealer and Traded Products Accounting Team is seeking a Financial Accountant. This accounting role will partner closely with various lines of business within Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”) in CIB Markets.
The primary products and services supported include commercial real estate loans, agency lending, commercial mortgage servicing, and commercial mortgage-backed securities. The Broker Dealer and Traded Products Accounting Team provides transaction support by working closely with the investment bankers and business leaders to understand proposed transactions.
In this role, you will:
Perform accounting research and partner with Enterprise Accounting Policy to provide advice on optimal accounting structuring of transactions and accounting elections to reduce accounting and financial risk
Serve as a lead accounting resource for the primary systems of record for multiple lines of business within Wells Fargo Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”)
Partner closely with line of business support functions which include the CAO team, middle office, and technology to resolve required system of record challenges, updates, or enhancements arising from new accounting pronouncements, regulatory interpretations, and data automation projects
Contribute to the Broker Dealer and Traded Products Accounting Team's oversight of the application of Wells Fargo's accounting policies and internal COSO control framework for both SEC and Regulatory filings
Ensure our line of business transactions recorded on the primary systems of record are properly reflected in Wells Fargo's SEC and Regulatory filings
Review data from the general ledger and various financial systems to ensure accuracy and completeness
Assist in preparation and/or review of certain accounting close cycle journal entries as well as various SEC and Regulatory reporting

Required Qualifications:
2+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
Big Four public accounting experience
Experience with financial reporting under regulatory, GAAP and/or SEC guidelines with demonstrated ability to apply such guidelines
Experience with Alteryx
SEC/Regulatory reporting
Knowledge and understanding of accounting for loans, hedging and derivatives, transfers and sales, and consolidations
Knowledge of commercial mortgage securitizations and capital markets activities
Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions and drive for resolutions
