Role Value Proposition:
The MetLife Investment Management (MIM) Digital Marketer plays a critical role in helping the business drive MIM’s growth by using digital channels to promote the business. This role is involved in implementing content on all of MIM’s digital channels (website and LinkedIn) as well as executing email marketing campaigns to both build familiarity of MIM and to build loyalty among existing clients.
This role is becoming increasingly important in MIM’s Marketing team as the industry moves to more and more digitalization of its marketing efforts. The ideal candidate is a digital native that will support both the activation of our digital efforts as well as the enablement of our digital capabilities to support the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Acting as a stakeholder-facing marketer, the role will plan and execute integrated digital marketing campaigns for a diverse set of business units within MIM across all digital channels including website, email campaigns, social media platforms, and marketing automation platform
Track, report and optimize paid and non-paid tactics on our own digital channels and third-party channels on a regular cadence, and determine metrics to analyze for continuous optimization, partnering with advertising lead
Define and implement capabilities and tools required to enable digital marketing, campaign management, and engagement programs. These include internal/external digital marketing tools and digital platforms such as CMS, campaign tools, asset management (for digital images, videos, etc.), analytics, and marketing automation tools.
The role will be responsible for the activation of key marketing strategies in digital channels, more specifically:
Email – Execute email marketing campaigns to promote thought leadership and generate leads. This involves drafting email messaging for thought leadership papers, creating invites for webcasts (with goal of generating leads), managing campaigns in the U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific, monitoring statistics and continually looking for ways to improve the open and click thru rates.
Website – Manage content on MIM website. This includes working with MIM Marketing team, sales and investments teams as well as legal and compliance partners to decide what content needs to be added to the website, what content needs to be removed and what content needs to be enhanced, and coordinate with our Global Technology Office and/or outsource partners for implementation. The Digital Marketer will also work with the MIM Marketing team including the advertising lead to support website needs for advertising efforts.
Social (LinkedIn) – Manage MIM’s LinkedIn page identifying what we should post on LinkedIn. writing the copy for the posting and scheduling the posting.
Work with Legal and Compliance to ensure all materials posted on digital channels have been approved including the appropriate disclaimers.
Work with the Finance Department to obtain all relevant asset under management figures to post to our website on a quarterly basis.
Conduct competitive analysis on competitors’ websites and social media channels to determine how we can improve and better position our digital channels as well as improve the client experience on our digital channels.
Work with our digital agencies to design website or email templates and manage reporting metrics.
Tag content and implement search engine optimization techniques as required.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
5-7+ years of marketing experience, including 2+ years of website, social media and email marketing experience preferably in a financial services role.
Working knowledge of: channel specific marketing (Email, LinkedIn, Web, SEO, SEM, Paid Search, etc.); digital analytics; and automation solutions
Sound functional knowledge of the Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions strongly preferred, including marketing automation tools, such as Marketo, or equivalent (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
Demonstrated success in the implementation of digital marketing solutions, partnering with technical teams in the development of automation requirements and/or supporting systems deployment
Copywriting experience in digital channels, with the ability to write compelling copy for webcast invites, email marketing pieces, LinkedIn posts and website content
Knowledge of basic HTML
Knowledge of SEO
Ability to think strategically, understand business risk and apply creative problem-solving skills
Self-starter with ability to make/contribute to recommendations; and prioritize and manage multiple projects
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines by utilizing problem-solving skills
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal clients, vendors and colleagues, working with distributed international stakeholders
Strong oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field strongly preferred; Master’s degree a plus
Copywriting experience specifically in an asset management or financial services environment is preferred
