Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products.
As an Operator, you will be essential to the daily operational needs of the terminal to ensure that the company and customer's needs are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A heavy equipment operator must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Operating a Komatsu WA500 Frontend Loader to Load Dump Trucks/Trailers and operate a D-9 Dozer equipped with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and move aggregate from Stacker to storage in a safe and efficient manner.
Operate bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade.
Operate Front End Loader, Bobcat, Manlift, and Track Hoe and Forklift.
Maintain all mobile and stationary equipment by performing preventive maintenance, i.e.: lubricating, cleaning, greasing, adding gear lubricants and other minor maintenance and repairs; documents all activity performed.
Assist coworkers and maintenance crew on various jobs.
Position Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
Specific Experience and Knowledge
A minimum of one to three years' experience and/or training combined operating heavy equipment. OR
Relevant work experience and/or training.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations.
Must obtain and/or meet all requirements as required by customers to work in their facilities such as DISA and/or ISTC background checks; Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) may be required.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
In order to perform essential duties, regular work attendance is required.
Must be willing to work overtime with little or no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc as dictated by operations.
Must be willing to be on-call as dictated by operations.
Understand and comply with customer and Kinder Morgan's rules and policies.
Must be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), keep required work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules.
Physical Demands
Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, reach, etc. for extended periods of time.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
This position consist of outside work, adverse weather conditions may apply.
Preferred Experience
Heavy equipment certification(s).
Previous experience operating: D-9/D-10 Dozer, and/or Front-end Loader.
