Job Summary

The HR Project Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned HR projects to ensure successful project completion. Projects may be related to system or process changes, organizational initiatives, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Divestitures or cyclical HR activities. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and drive action by closely collaborating and communicating with project team members and stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities

Own and manage the entire project life cycle from initiation to closing. This includes project kick offs, planning of the work and identifying the best way to get the work done, monitoring of project progress, risk management, issue resolution, communications.
Will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, depending on size and scope.
Establish and manage project documents such as workplans, issue logs, and communications and training plans.
Lead or assist with change management efforts for projects. This can include creating a change management strategy, stakeholder assessment, tracking of change impacts, creating communication, training or other briefing materials.
Responsible for project status communications to key stakeholders outlining milestones, accomplishments, dependencies, risks and issues. This includes written weekly project updates or project update meetings.
Partner with other members of the HR PMO, HR leadership, HR Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, or client leadership to establish and monitor workplans, identify and resolve roadblocks and issues, assess and mitigate risks, address change management needs.
Collaborate with key contacts outside of the HR functions, such as the Program Office, Communications, Marketing, and business leadership in regard to project planning, execution or project data requests.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred
5-7 years of experience managing projects
Proven experience of managing large and more complex projects, including organizational-wide initiatives
Experience working on M&A or divestiture projects a plus
Proven experience leading change management initiatives
Knowledge of the HR and Payroll function preferred
Experience and working knowledge of the PMI model a plus
Experience with training and communication development and delivery
Experience in process mapping a plus
PMP, PROSCI or other related certification preferred

Work Conditions

Work is primarily sedentary (desk work at a computer)
The role is performed remotely. When visiting an office, incumbent will be in a mostly open office environment
Travel only as required by business or project need
This job is based in Houston, TX or Princeton, NJ or could be fully remote
