C.H. Robinson is seeking a strategic and tactical Principal HR Project Manager to provide leadership and support to significant, enterprise projects that focus on talent. In this critical role, you will execute project initiatives and consult with the business, providing superior customer support, managing change and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. You will serve as a single point of contact for assigned projects and act as a liaison between the business, Human Resources and the project team. Responsibilities:
Partners with project sponsors to bring definition to a project; creates project plan, outlining scope, objectives, deliverables, dependencies, resources, and timelines
Distributes work among team members (including self, this role will also execute project deliverables) and sets expectations
Uses broad knowledge of HR to lead team members to approach the project in a manner that results in a cohesive, integrated solution
Facilitates and ensures appropriate rhythm of project meetings; sets project communication cadence, communicates status updates to key stakeholders, and serves as the primary point of contact for project inquiries
Establishes partnerships and consults with key business stakeholders and other HR SMEs
Creates comprehensive and effective change management strategies to mitigate risk and ensure project success
Provides feedback to project team members as necessary for high performance
Ensures that HR team members, inclusive of those outside of the project team, understand the connection of their work to the project
Develops contingency plans and removes obstacles that may negatively impact the project
Facilitates the resolution of conflicts and resolves or escalates issues that arise during the project
Monitors progress of the project, ensures it remains on schedule and that all deliverables are achieved
Conducts project debriefs, identifies success and opportunities for improvements, and applies learnings to future projects
Required Qualifications:
B.A./B.S. in Human Resources or related degree
Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience and managing large-scale, complex projects, with the proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience in effective change management techniques and implementation
Demonstrated successful application of project management tools, processes, and best practices to develop and present a professional work product to multiple levels of management
Possesses broad knowledge covering multiple Human Resources functions
