General Summary:

The IT Audit Senior would be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the annual audit risk assessment, audit plan and audit testing schedule.  In addition, they are responsible for ensuring that all required testing is completed, reviewed and loaded in the supporting audit application. Audits consist of IT General Controls as well as selected application or special project reviews.  Audits can also cover areas such as application controls, logical access controls for applications, operating systems and databases, backup and recovery procedures, change controls, pre and post deployment assessments, user administration, perimeter security and selected configuration management controls on technical platforms such as VPNs, VMWare, Windows Server 20XX, AIX-UNIX , Linux and Cisco firewalls. They will supervise junior staff and external consultants to ensure that timeline and deliverable requirements are met.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities/Essential Functions, including but not limited to the following:

Assist in preparing the annual risk assessment
Develop an IT Audit Plan and Test Schedule in conjunction with financial audit management
Coordinate audits with management
Manage the activities of junior staff and external consultants
Provide expertise for audits as needed
Conduct audit testing
Review work products of junior team members and consultants to ensure that all testing criteria are met and that the assessments are well documented and accurate
Ensure that audit schedules are met
Ensure that results are communicated appropriately to both the external audit firm and internal management
Assist in the preparation of the quarterly Audit Committee package
Liaison with external IT Audit Staff

Qualifications

Preferred Education:  

4 year degree in Accounting, MIS, Information Systems or Computer Science

Required/Preferred Certifications:
CIA, CISA, CPA, CISSP (One or more)

Required Professional Experience:  

3 – 5 years in IT Audit (minimum) total experience

Required Languages: 

Not required but Spanish would be nice

Knowledge/Skills:

General knowledge of the audit and control of databases – SQL and Oracle given preference
General knowledge of the audit and control of operating systems – Windows, OS400 and Linux/UNIX given preference
Knowledge of the audit and control of ERP applications with a strong preference for JD Edwards, Timberline, Spectrum and, if possible Explorer and COINS
Nice to haves – understanding of virtualization, networking and Active Directory
