Job Summary

Assesses customer problems and works with cross-functional teams to identify product solutions. Gathers, analyzes, and documents requirements for internal customers while ensuring technology solutions aligns with business needs and strategic goals. Assists in defining product roadmaps and ensuring roadmaps align with customer needs through qualitative and quantitative analyses.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Interfaces with business stakeholders and technical teams to define, gather, and document requirements for product design and development.

Helps build business cases for product ideas. Coordinates the product lifecycle from strategic definition through end-of-life planning. Understands market needs and pain points to help recommend product solutions.

Conducts grooming sessions with user interface and development teams. Assists with training plan development, training sessions, user support, and developing user documents, including web manuals and reference guides.

Participates in the quality assurance process by explaining complex processes and aiding in the development of test plans.

Develops detailed business cases, return on investment calculations, value definition, cost assessments, benefits, and risk analyses.

Provides market, industry, and competitive expertise to drive product positioning. Helps develop product offerings with a competitive advantage.

Measures and reports product performance and quality.

Analyzes current state and emerging technological functionalities to drive business value.

Nature and Scope

Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.

Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by a supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.

May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel.

Work Environment

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
