Job Description
As an associate house counsel staff manager, you’ll oversee legal assistants, leads, and administrative assistants physically located in one or more locations. A typical day will involve critical decision making, providing clarity for client questions, handling escalated and complex issues, managing and developing others, and working with managing attorneys to implement new processes and workflows. Ideal candidates will rely on their strong time management skills while providing valuable support to our attorneys, be responsible for any hiring or training efforts, along with coordinating day to day office operations within the support staff.?
Must-have qualifications?
High school diploma or GED equivalent?and a minimum of two years legal experience
A minimum of two years of formal or informal leadership/coaching experience
Preferred skills
Insurance defense experience along with a solid understanding of the house counsel and/or general legal office environment and the ability to learn and understand litigation process
Ability to work independently while maintaining strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate PC skills with a working knowledge of spreadsheets along with working knowledge of Progressive’s systems, safety, quality, and operational procedures, training manuals and company policies and procedures
Ability to understand complex business issues and process
Compensation
$60,200-$80,300/year
Gainshare bonus up to 24% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
