Job Description

BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Assistant Construction Foreman position is necessary to meet the BU production flow reliability, project planning, project execution, and to contribute to the immediate future success of “Pumping by Priority” and “Managing by Exception.” The Assistant Construction Foreman would assist in field leadership in reviewing release for construction packages, directing contractors, pre-planning projects, executing construction projects on schedule, and cost tracking.  The following job responsibilities and requirements are listed below:
 

EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 7 years of related Oil and Gas industry experience and or 5 years of I&E/Automation construction.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate and promote safe and ethical behavior at all times.
• Assist Foreman in managing cost, SAP, invoices, construction schedules, manage contract PIC, and meetings with all field contractors due to office schedule being full.
• Lead in electrical and instrument construction duties of facilities and pipelines.
• Lead the construction and commissioning of electrical and pneumatic controls equipment, including PLC, of facilities and pipelines.
• Lead the construction of motor control centers, electrical distribution systems, motors, and other electrical equipment up to 4160VAC.
• Read and understand electrical drawings, flow schematics, and piping and instrumentation drawings.
• Perform and document commissioning activities an inspections on electrical and control equipment
• Comply with applicable Federal and State regulations, codes, and all company policies and procedures.
• Work with others to insure a safe and efficient operation of facilities and pipelines.
• Must be able answer calls from production at a 24/7 on call basis and delegate jobs to contractors
• Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected.
• Perform post inspection after task is completed and handed over
• Understand and apply all Devon Energy policies and ensure others comply with these policies.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and daily inter-action with Environmental group and BLM
• High level of organization, organize work flow and make sure task at hand is executed successfully.
• Monitor productivity and provide feedback to management
• Maintain compliance, in conjunction with and through close coordination with EHS Department, for all regulatory, environmental, and safety issues.
• Responsible for knowing all production equipment currently being used and learning any new equipment that is introduced.
• Assist in filling gaps outside of assigned area when needed including but not limited to coverage over weekends, holidays, and vacation relief.
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• Work with production staff to troubleshoot areas of concern
• Practice safe work habits at all times
• Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Basic computer skills
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Communication across multiple disciplines within Devon Energy
• Able to work within a team environment
• Able to travel and work extended hours
• Position requires operation of Devon Energy vehicles. Incumbent must maintain a clean driving record and adhere to Devon Energy policies.
• Live in or be willing to relocate to the local operating area as required by Devon Energy.
