Job Description
What you will do:
Provide data engineering oversight for all data engineering products, services, and solution enhancement designs to ensure that changes are aligned with enterprise architecture direction and standard methodologies.
Work with business relationship managers, business users, portfolio architects, functional and product owners, data analysts, solution and data architects, and data scientists to identify and develop data engineering use cases with attention on compute (batch or stream processing) and storage.
Capture and translate business requirements into designs and recommendations, then provide technical guidance and data engineering know-how in addressing business needs.
Responsible for developing models (e.g., preparation of high-quality data) and provide experienced advice to ensure the development of processes will transform/clean/load data into those models.
Contribute to the Data Analytics Reference Architecture by maintaining a repository of data engineering artifacts and procedures, including validation and verification of designs to confirm data products and solutions are accurately implemented before production releases.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
4+ years progressively experience in a data engineering role within a large and sophisticated organization.
Deep understanding of modern data engineering and big data analytics technologies, including data management trends, statistical data analysis, machine learning, visualization, optimization, and automation.
Sophisticated level knowledge of relational, NoSQL, or NewSQL database systems, and data modelling, structured and unstructured.
Strong algorithm design and programming skills in Python and other related coding languages with proven experience using and designing key data structures, algorithms and techniques relate to systems that support high volume, velocity, or variety datasets including apps that use machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Technical experience in developing analytical products and solutions; including developing data engineering components for cloud-based analytical solutions as well as working with data ingestion, data engineering, data provisioning, data visualization, data science teams.
Valid passport to travel in North America.
