What You Will Do

Advance the site closure plan and associated cost estimates through definition of closure objectives/success criteria and strategies and execution of all related studies.
Lead the Site-Wide Closure and Reclamation Technical Team and supporting consultants to deliver Investment System stage gate requirements
Review, evaluate, and improve mine closure and reclamation plans including technical and social plans, and their compliance with legal requirements, Newmont standards and best industry practices.
Lead site closure studies with regard to: project execution plan and schedule development, investment system approval, contract procurement, consultant and contractor management, project budget tracking, and progress and outcomes reporting.
Collaborate with site, regional, and corporate teams in establishing the design criteria, execution plan, cost estimates and scope of closure and reclamation projects.
Understand and incorporate climate change considerations into closure planning.
Lead annual update of closure cost estimates using tools such as Standard Reclamation Cost Estimator (SRCE) and internal planning tools in conjunction with the business planning process and other site teams.
Develop annual site Closure and Reclamation Technical Team (CRTT) Charter. Lead site CRTT meetings and monitor progress against Charter objectives.
Develop, implement and measure success of CC&V’s concurrent reclamation plan. Update CC&V’s Three-Year Closure Plan on an annual basis and track progress against targets and objectives.
Coordinate with Operational and Project teams to deliver on annual reclamation and closure targets.
Training & Experience
B. S. degree in Engineering or technical field and 3 to 5 years project engineering/project management experience.
Mining and environmental experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, and GIS. Experience with cost estimating software (ie, RS Means, BIM, etc) and/or project management software (Microsoft Project, P6, etc.) preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
Position based in United States at the Cripple Creek & Victor Mine, located in Teller County Colorado.
Work outside in all weather conditions.
Walk on rough, uneven, inclined, wet terrain, and climb stairs.
Wear personal protective equipment including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, long sleeved shirts, or any other equipment to perform duties safely.
Must hold a valid vehicle driver’s license.
