Job Summary and Scope:
We are seeking a process-oriented individual with a passion for continuous improvement as well as an effective leader, catalyst for change, and role model for process improvement.
The Process Improvement Manager works under the direction of the Director, Continuous Process Improvement in collaboration with Operations functional teams and organizational leadership to define, analyze and implement process improvements in pursuit of operational excellence and the achievement of Veritiv's strategic objectives.
This role is responsible for capturing and documenting Veritiv's processes, managing and facilitating workshops, gathering performance data, capturing process improvement requests and keeping up to date repository of all processes and related documentation.
The Process Improvement Manager will be responsible for demonstrating best practices associated with Lean Six Sigma and Process Improvement disciplines in order to support the ongoing focus required for improving internal/external customer experience, realizing cost saving, increasing quality and driving efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities:
Accelerate and drive the improvement of operational processes within Veritiv strategic projects
Lead behavioral change within assigned business functions to develop continuous improvement culture through the implementation of change management best practices, targeted training and motivating team members across the organization
Plan and implement the delivery of new process and solutions that are customer centric and lean in design
Drive and manage multiple highly complex projects simultaneously that require Lean Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, DMADV, etc.) and analytical approaches to solve issues, improve processes, reduce waste and build new capabilities.
Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize improvement activities.
Administer and maintain SPC tools to develop and monitor process behavior charts to assist with identifying areas of opportunities
Influence strategic decisions through consultation with Senior Leadership and Functional Leaders throughout the organization.
Develop, implement and manage projects throughout the entire process improvement life cycle
Partner with Operations functional teams to document savings and/or benefits related to process improvement activity, and follow-up to ensure post-improvement sustainability.
Manage and communicate performance of the functional process improvements that deliver measurable value
Develop and facilitate Kaizen events to drive continuous improvements for functional processes
Document and provide lessons learned supported by reliable data that can be applied to other processes and improvement activities
Deliver project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting to key stakeholders and leadership
Achieves buy-in from all decision makers for the successful application of performance improvement.
Ensure that appropriate operational transition and monitoring occurs for each initiative
Educate, coach, and mentor team members at all levels in the organization to build a culture of Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence.
Oversee the continuous improvement initiatives executed by functional teams
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in discipline from an accredited university (Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education)
Experienced Black Belt highly recommended with 10+ years of experience leading and managing multiple or large continuous improvement programs.
2 to 4 years of leading change management efforts
Demonstrated knowledge of Kaizen & Lean Six Sigma principles
Hands-on experience using wide range of Lean/Six Sigma management tools
Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations experience preferred
Demonstrated project management/coordination
Proven ability to engage and motivate people of all levels and backgrounds.
