Job Overview:
The Senior Analyst will be part of projects that deliver business-led solutions to the most important and ambiguous challenges Macy’s is facing during this transformational time in retail. Senior Analysts will be responsible for creating executive-level presentations, analyzing data, and strategizing and delivering solutions to internal Macy’s clients to promote growth and address the evolving needs of our business.

Senior Analysts will have the flexibility to explore a variety of areas within Macy’s, Inc., with the opportunity to work as a generalist on a variety of internal projects of strategic importance across the enterprise. Senior Analysts will have the opportunity to work on various sized project teams and with various Corporate Strategy & Business Development Senior Leads and Senior Managers.

Essential Functions:

Apply analytical rigor and problem-solving skills to strategic business problems
Assess new / innovative concepts and approaches
Synthesize key insights and formulate actionable recommendations
Leverage large data sets to garner insights
Build financial/operating models
Establish trusting relationships with key stakeholders across functions
Work with cross-functional teams in both strategy formulation as well as results delivery phases of projects
Research, build, and regularly update team’s competitive landscape analysis work to identify and conceptualize strategic partnership opportunities that will accelerate execution of Macy’s strategic priorities
Collaborate with other teams within the broader Transformation group (e.g., Transformation Operations, Transformation Measurement)
Create Executive-level presentations

Qualifications and Competencies:

1-2 years work experience, preferably in management consulting or investment banking
BA/BS Degree
Strong record of academics, extracurricular activity, professional accomplishment and leadership, as well as professional work experience
Knowledge and interest in retail, technology, and innovation
Experience working in cross-functional project teams or influencing without formal authority is a plus
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
Ability to understand, organize, and communicate complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to a variety of audiences
Excellent communication and facilitation skills (oral, written and listening) for a variety of audiences and project stakeholders
Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment
Self-starter, curious, and keeps a pulse on market changes / new trends
Experience developing holistic strategies through a structured, project-based approach
Self-driven with ability to work independently with limited day-to-day guidance
Strong proficiency with quantitative and analytical approaches
Experience working with financial models and analyzing large data sets a plus
Strong in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
High-energy, passionate, with proven track record of delivering results
Executes following a “Teams Win” philosophy, fostering a positive, collaborative environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs
