With us, you’ll experience Ownership. The Residential Property Advertising team is accountable for the customer facing experiences, commercial success, reporting and insights of REA’s core residential property advertising product Depth, and complimentary products Audience Maximiser, eBrochure & Property Showcase.
While no two days are ever the same, as a Technical?Lead?you will be responsible for the architecture and design of our systems. In collaboration with other technical leaders across the business you will provide input into the technical vision of REA and apply it to the products in your area. You will combine your?extensive technical experience with your understanding of the business to guide your teams through all aspects of software delivery.? The successful execution of this role will require close collaboration with the Senior Tech Lead in Residential Win Listings tribe, as part of the wider Residential marketplace.
While the focus of this role is on architecture and leadership, you will remain hands on and work with teams to?develop software solutions using agile software development practices as required. You will champion our technical practices to ensure a?high-quality?outcome for our business. You will share responsibility for the provisioning, deployment and operational support of the software your team builds.
You will form a part of the leadership team for your area and will be jointly accountable for the health, happiness and performance of your team(s). You will contribute positively to the culture of the team, build engagement and morale, be involved in recruiting, set structure and processes and?generally help build and maintain a high performing team(s). You will use your skills and experience to guide and support our next group of technology leaders, especially Lead Developers.
Who we’re looking for
Someone with a few runs on the board?–?you will likely have?8+ years of experience working in software development and 2+ years?leading engineering teams
Experience in solution design of full stack web products using open source and cloud technologies that scale and perform for millions of users.
Expertise in one or more programming languages; Scala, Java, Ruby or JavaScript are preferred.
Expertise in modern software development techniques such as object orientation, test driven development, micro-services and continuous delivery.
