Job Description


Job Summary
Assists the Terminal Manager with all of the functions of running an intermodal terminal, including coverage for Terminal Manager in all functions while they are unavailable.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

Ensure decisions are made to maximize profitability of the company.
Work with the Terminal Manager, clerical staff, and contractors to ensure both inbound and outbound train and terminal plans are harmonized. Ensure all trains are loaded smartly and reduce the amount of unproductive track time.
Work with Terminal Manager, Network Operations, and Service Design groups to adjust/change plans and schedules to meet network, customer, and terminal needs.
Work with Terminal Manager to set short and long-term plans for maintenance, upgrades, and updates in accordance with CSX rules and guidelines.
Make sure all periodic inspections (daily, weekly, and monthly) are performed, reviewed, and addressed.
Assist Terminal Manager in determining sufficient staffing levels and establish schedules to maximize the use of clerical and contract employees.
Implement training of all new employees and recurrent training for all other employees and contractors.
Ensure all CSX intermodal safety and environmental policies are adhered to by all employees and contractors.
Ensure all necessary departments of CSX intermodal are informed of all terminal needs and special conditions (daily updates if necessary).
Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

 Qualifications
 Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED
4 or more years of experience in 4 or more years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Rail Operations
1 or more years of supervisory experience in 1 or more years of supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
2 or more years of supervisory experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Rail Operations

Knowledge and Skills

Railroad industry knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulatory knowledge
Knowledge of Association of American Railroad (AAR) guidelines
Strong Business Acumen
