Responsibilities:
This position serves as a key member of the American Express External Reporting, Controllership team. The successful candidate will serve as the Manager of External Reporting and have primary responsibilities over the regulatory reporting for the Money Transmitter licenses held by American Express. The open position covers a variety of responsibilities, but the ideal candidate will enjoy the financial reporting process, researching accounting and regulatory standards and making applicability and reporting conclusions based on that research. Overall, the position is responsible for managing the following:
Manage the preparation, standardization, and improvement of quarterly regulatory filings to multiple state jurisdictions.
Work with business partners and technology teams to create dynamic, accurate, and automated regulatory reporting.
Liaise with similar positions within the External Regulatory Reporting team to identify and implement opportunities for integration and process enhancement.
Work with team to create and implement best-of-class data governance in regulatory reporting.
Lead and engage with key stakeholders to address state regulatory audits.

Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or a related Business field is strongly preferred.
5+ years of financial reporting and accounting experience desired.
Demonstrated strength in leading change, analyzing and resolving issues, driving results and managing performance.
This position will be working with teams all over the globe, so preference will be given to candidates with strong organizational and relationship building skills.
Experience in managing projects and working with technology teams from the creation of business requirements to full implementation of an initiative.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Graduate degree and/or CPA is desired, but not a requirement.
