Responsibilities
Position, measure and assemble and secure parts according to blueprints, specified tolerances, special instructions and unit specifications.
Operate equipment such as; grinder, impact, sander, drill press, fixtures and gauges, and hand tools to aid in manufacturing.
Operate fork lift and overhead cranes
Detect and report defective material, improper operation of equipment, and equipment needing service or repair.
Drive continuous improvement through value stream, cost reduction and quality.
Comply with corporate/departmental policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position
EDUCATION: Must be able to use basic math, be able to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
EXPERIENCE: Must have 1+ years work experience, preferably assembly experience in a manufacturing environment. Requires hands on experience mechanical aptitude, tools and equipment operation.
SKILLS:
Good mechanical aptitude.
Ability to use hand and powered tools.
Ability to read blueprints, technical instructions and work orders.
Mathematical ability.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing preferred
Excellent problem solving skills, judgment and decision making skills
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly
Ability to manage multiple tasks / projects at one time
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimal guidance
PHYSICAL WORK DEMAND: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop and climb for 8+ hours.
