Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for accounting and analysis of various compensation plans in accordance with applicable accounting literature. This individual will coordinate with a wide variety of departments including Payroll, HR, Legal, and Treasury to accomplish.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for monthly and quarterly analysis and reconciliations of a variety of executive incentives including, defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
Manage several databases designed to track and distribute plan data.
Assist in the forecasting and budgeting process for agencies and Corporate department
Understand and apply relevant GAAP literature and be able to answer questions from Business Units, Auditors, managers, and other departments related to this field.
Understand and apply relevant Sarbanes-Oxley requirements in order to ensure proper business controls remain in place.
Submit journal entries using SAP.
Oversee global reconciliation with operating units’ budget vs. actuals and annual billings, including providing and reviewing fluctuation and analytical analyses.
Ad hoc and special projects, as necessary
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
1-2 years of accounting experience, executive compensation experience preferred
Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
Ability to work proactively and independently
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work in stressful situations with tight deadlines
Detail-oriented
Experience with databases or system design a plus
Ability to work in a team environment
