Sr. Software Engineer - Java Platform

About the team:

The frameworks team at eBay is seeking a hardworking and motivated platform engineer. You will work on developing DevOps solutions for applications developed using eBay’s Spring/Spring Boot/Node.js based application platform.

The Application Platforms team is actively working on delivering the next generation cloud native service mesh based platform to eBay. We are eBay’s Engineering Ecosystems and Experience (EEE), and that makes us engineers for engineers.

Responsibilities:

Develop container images that will host eBay applications in Kubernetes
Develops CI/CD solutions for eBay’s Java applications (RESTful, SOA, Web, Messaging and Batch)
Implements automation solution for the release of java framework
Chips in toward Java framework development.
Implement RESTFul APIs
Demonstrate strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
Demonstrates customer focus and emotional intelligence
Result driven person with a focus on delivery in a high-velocity and high-availability environment

Preferred Skills:

Kubernetes, Container technologies (Docker, containers), Tekton,
Familiarity with Istio Service Mesh
Jenkins CI/CD pipeline solutions
Proficient in Core Java, Java language features, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns
Experience with Spring, Spring Boot.
Understanding of API design and RESTful principles
Experience with automation tools such as Maven/Jenkins, static analysis, code coverage

Basic qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years software engineering experience or Masters Degree with 2+ years experience
Proficient in Java language features, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns
Strong computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
