JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: 

The Sr. Manager, Warehousing, Inventory & Logistics reports to the Director, WIL. This position is accountable/responsible for the efficient, cost managed and effective supervision of warehouse activities including storing, receiving, cycle counting, picking and shipping of materials from the Entergy Distribution Center (EDC) warehouses supporting Utility Operations and Transmission. Responsible for the management of EDC supervision, inventory management, and contractors that include non-exempt, bargaining unit staff and contract oversight for labor and logistics. The role will manage supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to: production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. The position creates integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics, and outside suppliers, focuses resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes, and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis.

The Sr. Mgr-WIL T&D will work closely with all EDC and Transmission Warehouses and their customers to ensure acceptable service levels and emergency response.   They will be responsible for development and sustaining of key metrics to ensure operational efficiencies.

Preferred office location is in Hammond, LA but could be domiciled in New Orleans, LA, Jackson, MS, or Little Rock, AR. The position will require at least 25-35% travel to the field and corporate offices across the fleet.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety/Human Performance: Ensure the Team always puts safety first. Actively promote strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call /Good Catch in addition to proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitoring and influencing Suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.
Warehouse, Inventory & Warehousing Initiative: Responsible for the execution of multi-year WIL strategic roadmap to world class, optimization of the capital required for inventory, establishing clear service levels that incorporate an acceptable risk profile, liaising with customers  to obtain feedback on performance, assuring execution oversight and delivery of all daily WIL operations, developing and monitoring key financial and operational  performance indicators to drive results, ensuring key processes, systems and interfaces are effective and as efficient as possible across the WIL cycle, establish clarity and expectations at the customer interfaces on the front and back end of the WIL process supporting the T&D business functions.
Network Optimization: Accountable for the ongoing end to end optimization and improvement of the company’s WIL T&D network operations from Work Management through to Delivery to Operations in the field. This activity includes review of physical structures, unit cost structure, supporting new technology, workforce capabilities, planning, development and diversity supporting the T&D business functions. 
Logistics Management: Accountable for optimizing inbound and outbound logistics through effective contracting of transportation services, planning optimal economic order quantities, logistics scheduling, etc. supporting the T&D business functions.
Budget and Cost Prudency:  Responsible for the efficient management of budget and cost for overall operations.  Work with Finance to provide supply chain data on distribution costs and analysis of the impact on cost of services. Forecasts any changes in service costs and provides forecasted updates to Finance and Marketing as required.
Customer Service:  Efficiently and effectively resolve customer complaints. Provide guidance and leadership in driving the distribution operations team in the development and execution of continuous initiatives to achieve year over year direct, indirect cost improvements. Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute departmental plans to reduce expenses at each of the operating locations, including monthly reporting of key performance metrics.
Incident Response:  Lead and Provide best-in-class storm response performance. Develop and execute capacity planning and scheduling of the energy generating facility and develop and execute material planning and logistics to support distribution facility.
Partnership: Accountable for establishing and maintaining healthy and positive stakeholder relationships. This activity includes establishing cross-functional and cross-sector teams with key stakeholders and creating a multi-year demand plans with integrated supply chain solutions.
People Leadership: Accountable for leverage of Supply Chain’s Talent Management Strategy to assure the right Supply Chain talent is recruited, developed, retained, and deployed in line with key business priorities. Mentor and coach staff.  This position will lead approximately 5 direct reports and a total headcount of 25 FTEs.  Provide a rewarding, engaging and inclusive and diverse work environment for employees.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education and experience required of the position

Supply Chain degree or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline and 10 years of experience in materials/warehousing, logistics, purchasing, contracts or project management OR in lieu of degree minimum 14+ years of experience in materials/warehousing, logistics, purchasing, contracts or project management
5 years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent leadership experience.
5 years of energy or related  Supply Chain experience preferred.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position 

Advanced communications and computer skills with a solid knowledge and understanding of Entergy's AS8, DIS, Logility and MS Toolkit applications, especially MS ACCESS and IKW table structure and query ability is preferred.
Outstanding communication, conflict management and change management skills. Ability to make timely decisions that utilize available material and resources in a cost effective manner.
Able to provide effective leadership in a team environment.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics. Strong understanding of AS8 and the financial transactions that effect warehouse operations. Some understanding of distribution materials and their application in the field.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a staff of non-exempt and/or bargaining unit employees.
Familiar with OSHA regulations and reporting requirements. Some understanding of DOT regulations and the effects they have on logistics.
Demonstrated ability to energize workforce in regards to safety programs.
Some knowledge of bargaining unit contracts and the ability to interpret and follow the rules established by the contract.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of interfacing departments' processes and priorities.
