JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: 

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain (SC) Strategic Initiatives serves as a thought partner to the executive leaders of the SC function, and is responsible for the oversight of emerging and key SC initiatives in service of the business.

This Senior Manager is a key member of the Director SC Strategy & Transformation leadership team, will lead up to 5 reports across 5 teams, and partners across the CSO’s extended leadership team on a regular basis to develop and progress comprehensive, collaborative, integrated, and progressive supply chain strategic initiatives with the objective of enabling our SC Vision - to safely supply the materials, equipment and services to power life, and Mission - to seek to partner with our customers to develop strategies, provide solutions and leverage the expertise of our employees to deliver a premier customer experience and outcomes

This position will play the lead role in developing and implementing existing key Strategic Initiatives for SC Continuous Improvement, SC Digitization & Automation, SC Workforce & Capability Development, SC Working Capital Strategy Development and SC Business Partners. The Snr Manager and respective leaders will lever the SC flexible resource pool to support agile initiative teams. The Snr Manager will be the Max-Gen SC Executive sponsor and will own the Integrated Supply Chain Board.

Preferred office location is The Woodlands, though the position could also be in New Orleans. The position will require a minimum 25-30% travel to Entergy project sites in the field, Entergy corporate/regional office locations, Entergy power plants, and to supplier offices.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety/Human Performance:

Actively promote strong safety behaviors and ensure the team always puts safety first.
Utilizes key tools, programs, and proactive field visits to assure standards and behaviors for staff and contractors.
Puts Safety/Human Performance at the front of all design and development work – to ensure users of the to-be services recognize that we have done so

Program Management

Provide program/project management leadership and decision support on projects, prioritization, and resourcing. 
Provide project management services including scheduling, milestone tracking, reporting, resource tracking, variance management, and project risk identification and management.
Stand-up Governance to manage respective opportunity pipelines
Identify & Progress NEW SC Strategic Initiatives
Develop in partnership with the SCLT & ELT the 5-year SC Roadmap
Perform periodic customer updates on the SC roadmap

Program # 1 Continuous Improvement:

In partnership with CBS CI enable an Agile SC Continuous Improvement (CI) program and with resultant workforce-driven CI culture to achieve premier financial and operational results.
Enable a pipeline of SC CI opportunities and performance manage
Identify & Progress Other SC Strategic Initiatives
Develop CI leadership and embed CI as a way of working into all SC teams
As a leader, enable time & resources to execute Continuous Improvement opportunities, and participate, engage, and utilize Continuous Improvement tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard. 

Program # 2 Digitization & Automation:

In partnership with SC S&T Strategy & Analytics and CBS IT teams enable an Agile SC Digitization & Automation (DA) program and with resultant workforce-driven DA culture to achieve premier financial and operational results.
Manage existing SC Digital & Automated programs – systems, programs and interfaces
Enable a pipeline of SC DA opportunities and performance manage
Develop DA leadership and embed DA as a way of working into all SC teams
As a leader, enable time & resources to execute Digitization & Automation opportunities, and participate, engage, and utilize Digitization & Automation tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard. 

Program # 3 Workforce & Capability Development:

In partnership with HR teams enable an Agile SC Workforce & Capability Development (WCD) program and with resultant workforce driven WCD culture to achieve premier financial, operational, and organizational health results.
Manage existing SC WCD programs
Enable a pipeline of SC WCD opportunities and performance manage
Develop WCD leadership and embed WCD as a way of working into all SC teams
As a leader, enable time & resources to execute Workforce & Capability Development opportunities – and participate, engage, and utilize Workforce & Capability Development tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard. 

Program # 4: Working Capital – Payment Terms CI Strategy Development:

In partnership with Finance teams enable an Agile SC Working Capital – Payment Terms CI Strategy Development (WCPTSD) program and with resultant workforce driven WCPTSD culture to achieve premier financial, operational, and organizational health results.
Manage existing SC WCPTSD programs
Enable a pipeline of SC WCPTSD opportunities and performance manage
Develop WCPTSD leadership and embed WCPTSD as a way of working into all SC teams
As a leader, enable time & resources to execute Working Capital Payment Terms CI Strategy Development opportunities – and participate, engage, and utilize Working Capital – Payment Terms CI Strategy Development opportunities - Development tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard. 

Program # 5: Working Capital - Inventory Optimization CI Strategy Development:

In partnership with the Business, WIL, Finance, and other teams - enable an Agile SC Working Capital - Inventory Optimization CI Strategy Development (WCIOSD) program, with resultant workforce driven WCIOSD culture to achieve premier financial, operational, and organizational health results.
Manage existing SC WCIOSD programs
Enable a pipeline of SC WCIOSD opportunities and performance manage
Develop WCIOSD leadership and embed WCIOSD as a way of working into all SC teams
As a leader, enable time & resources to execute Working Capital Inventory Optimization CI Strategy Development opportunities – and participate, engage, and utilize Working Capital - Inventory Optimization CI Strategy Development opportunities - Development tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard. 

Program # 6: Supply Chain Business Partners:

In partnership with CBS teams – such as HR, Finance and others - enable an Agile SC Supply Chain Business Partners (SCBP) program and with resultant workforce driven SCBP culture to achieve premier financial, operational and organizational health results.
Manage existing SC SCBP programs
Enable a pipeline of SC SCBP opportunities and performance manage
Develop SCBP leadership and embed SCBP as a way of working into all SC teams
As a leader, enable time & resources to execute Supply Chain Business Partners opportunities – and participate, engage, and utilize Supply Chain Business Partners tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard. 

Other Management Activities

At all times, operate with highest ethical standards and in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Define, set, and achieve departmental goals that support the supply chain strategy and overall organizational goals for corporate business services and supply chain.
Responsible for understanding and administering Supply Chain policies and procedures.
Maintain healthy, positive, and valuable stakeholder relationships within the supply chain organization and with its customers and suppliers.
Mentor and coach staff members and support the broader talent development activities within the supply chain management organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education and experience required of the position

Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, supply chain management, engineering, finance, project management, or another related technical discipline and a minimum of 10+ years of demonstrated experience in leading/project management of strategic initiatives and teams that add demonstrated value – from ideation, to design, development, deployment, and performance management. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14+ years of demonstrated experience in leading/project management of strategic initiatives and teams that add demonstrated value – from ideation, to design, development, deployment, and performance management is required
Minimum 8+ years of supervisory or related leadership experience required.
Minimum 5+ years of experience leading teams that have levered a Business Partner model
Minimum 5+ year of Commercial or Supply Chain supervisory or related leadership experience preferred.

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Deep knowledge of Supply chain programs, policies, and procedures – enterprise framework development and leadership.
Strong business acumen and organizational agility, with deep knowledge and understanding of supply chain processes, systems, and stakeholders – plan, strategy, source, negotiate, contract and perform 
Demonstrated experience – leadership, strategy, implementation and operations - with Continuous Improvement, Digitization & Automation, Workforce & Capability Development and Working Capital
Deep Projects Management knowledge and skills
Strong strategic and analytical thinker with an ability to provide focus on service delivery.
Deep experience with process optimization and continuous improvement preferred.
Strong collaboration, relationship management, and negotiation skills and abilities.
Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and creative problem-solving skills.
