Responsibilities
Corporate Accounting is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. This role provides an opportunity to be involved with financial reporting for the company primarily from a U.S. Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP) basis, but will also have exposure to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) reporting.
How you'll spend your time:
Interact with all business areas and be involved in a mix of monthly close work and problem solving/project work.
Complete GAAP/SAP internal and external reporting.
Record certain monthly entries and/or facilitate certain monthly processes for which Corporate Accounting has oversight.
Prepare quarterly Statutory filings for one of our domestic insurance companies
Oversight of monthly/quarterly separate account process and preparation of annual Statutory separate account filings
Other miscellaneous duties, which could include: Provide support for business unit accounting staff; participate in implementation of new accounting guidance; participate in resolution and documentation of accounting issues
Ideal candidate has a financial reporting background or aptitude; can read and interpret accounting guidance and document conclusions; and is analytical, self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience plus 6 years of relevant experience required
CPA or other applicable certifications preferred
