What you will be doing
Under the direction of the VP of FP&A, the Director, Business Finance & Analytics is responsible for defining and prioritizing Finance and Pricing data strategies covering $150B+ in global revenue and $1B+ in operating expenses. This position serves as a business liaison role, working closely with business (FP&A and Pricing) and IT stakeholders to promote accurate and complete datasets, along with evolving data available for everyday decision-making. This role will work directly with IT to provide general requirements on developing datasets, along with business input on break-fix tickets and enhancements.
This role will elevate the profile, capability, and business value of Finance and Pricing and continue to support/build our Business Technology Transformation. They will work with the business to understand datasets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive company measurement, reporting and analytics across business functions. In addition, they will understand how these metrics and measures align and track against overall business strategies, goals and objectives.
The Director of Business Finance & Analytics possesses a balance of financial, project management, technical data and data analysis acumen, as well as the ability influence executive leadership on pricing, gross profit, and expense allocation strategies and customer profitability reporting.
Develop operating model with Business Group Finance and Pricing (BGF), ensuring data priorities are aligned across key stakeholders, appropriately resourced, and meet established project timeframes Develop and manage data strategies for (BGF), ensuring functional input. Present data strategies and summary requirements to IT teams, to be translated into technical requirements Serve as the business liaison for Enterprise Analytics Platform (EAP), closely coordinating with FP&A and Pricing functions. Maintains knowledge of Enterprise data operations, strategies, and requirements Ensures data priorities are clearly communicated to IT – Data Analytics and align with Company’s growth and long-term objectives Drives innovation and defines strategies on approach and tools to support dash boarding, improve data quality, and enable predictive analytics Lead and advise on complex business initiatives, typically playing a strong leadership role to drive consensus, action, and closure across multiple areas within the finance function and across geographies and other business / functional organizations. Coordinates and encourages consistencies between the business and IT organizations to deliver solutions that meet business needs through a common framework using enterprise standards Works closely with the Master Data organization to ensure consistent updates and usage of the Enterprise Key Figures data dictionary and other master data dictionaries Work with IT and Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) to ensure timely communication on system related break-fix and enhancements opportunities, along with Data Governance management Provides subject matter expertise / business input for data and tool development Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements solutions Works closely with the Business Group Finance VPs and EVP in the strategic direction of enterprise data and tools, and the impact it has on the corporation Creates ad-hoc reports for other internal departments, as needed Performs related duties as assigned.
What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)
Requires training in fields such as business administration, accounting, finance, computer sciences or similar vocations obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree program; normally requires a minimum of seven (7) years directly related and progressively responsible experience in Finance, Pricing, functional data management, and functional tool management.
Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of Finance and Pricing Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of Information Management processes and technologies such as Data (EAP), delivery mechanisms (OLAP, dashboards, data mining, Vendavo), and relevant data areas such as data quality, master data management, metadata management, collaboration and business process management Excellent leadership skills. Previous experience and proven ability to identify, communicate and drive the reporting vision as well as inspire behavioral and cultural changes; able to clearly translate IT investments into business concepts; ability to drive standards Excellent management skills. Able to establish roles and responsibilities, establish data governance, set priorities and motivate BGF and IT teams Excellent organizational skills. Secure commitment from stakeholders to support data/tool structure and governance Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to facilitate strategy discussions and articulate the vision and value of BI to the organization Ability to influencing cross-functional teams to meet shared objectives Minimum of 7 years’ experience with enterprise reporting solutions
