The Director of Portfolio Analytics is a critical role that will originate new approaches to portfolio analytics and systematize how we deliver data-driven insights to ensure that we're maximizing value across our portfolio. The Director will lead a small team dedicated to portfolio analytics and play a key role in exploring and developing new analytical techniques to provide insights into identifying and evaluating strategic options. This is an exciting role for someone who is highly motivated, intellectually curious, dynamic and flexible. The role will report to the VP of Portfolio Analytics and Business Development.

Portfolio Analytics Director Responsibilities

* Oversee implementation of an analytics framework to enable an evergreen approach to tracking key metrics and evaluation
* Lead the development and assessment of portfolio attributes and market trends that may impact asset optimization
* Lead a small team of analysts to develop business intelligence and actionable analytics
* Lead the development of scenarios to evaluate business tradeoffs and translate potential outcomes into recommendations
* Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data analysis techniques to identify insights that will guide strategic decisions
* Play an instrumental role in evolving and designing new, innovative measurement and visualization tools
* Identify and assess key business drivers, market trends and emerging opportunities and risks
* Synthesize and communicate findings to a wide internal audience



Qualifications

* 7 - 10 years of experience delivering analytics solutions within a data-driven environment and experience managing a team of analytics professionals
* Bachelor's Degree in Quantitative or Business or related field is required; Masters preferred
* Proficiency in multiple statistical packages and data management platforms required, knowledge of earth observation technologies highly valued.
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, particularly ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely and collaborate across diverse teams
* Forest industry operational experience and knowledge of forest sector supply chain preferred
* Strategic and creative thinker with practical sound business judgment.
* Strong business acumen and active learner with a desire to understand our businesses
* Results oriented with a bias for action; ability to serve as player / coach
