Description
Jacobs Technology provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and Launch Services programs.
Responsibilities:
- Senior Manager responsible for the overall management of Ground Electrical Systems consisting of:
- Electrical & Controls/Instrumentation Systems Engineering
- Electrical & Controls/Instrumentation Design Engineering
- Engineering Development Laboratories
- Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the allocated resources of Electrical Engineering Design
and Systems functions.
- Provide technical leadership within TOSC / JSOG for the Electrical Engineering function.
- Represent TOSC / JSOG Electrical Engineering areas of responsibility to the NASA customer.
- Manages the overall working units' area of responsibility; develops and implements plans; determines personnel
requirements and assigns; evaluates results, provides employee counseling and complies with EEO/AA programs.
Makes personnel-related recommendations.
- Provide coordination and integration actions as required in association with the TOSC Command & Control Working
Group.
- Implements Asset Management concept across organizations
- Prepares resource estimates and complies with budget limitations to include but not limited to: Program Planning Budget
Exercise (PPBE), Annual Operations Plan, TOSC Change Requests (TCRs), Engineering Service Requests (ESRs), etc.
- Provide coordination and integration actions as required in association with the TOSC Command & Control Working
Group.
- Interprets, adapts, and recommends policies and procedures; develops, coordinates, and implements policies and
procedures for areas of responsibility.
- Implements quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Manages resources effectively within budgetary and time constraints, and contributes to the overall success of the
company by providing a motivated and productive staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree (Preferably Electrical Engineering) from an accredited college or university plus twelve (12) years' experience
in engineering or technical field including 5 years of management or technical leadership positions. Additional education
may be substituted for relevant experience.
- Demonstrated technical leadership with the KSC NASA customer is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of the KSC ground electrical system design requirements and operational protocol is highly
desirable.
- System Engineering operational certification experience is highly desirable.
- Requires demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior managerial / supervisory and/or technical leadership
experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Thorough knowledge of KSC/NASA design standards is required.
- Thorough knowledge of industry standards and regulatory codes such as but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IEEE is
required.
- Knowledge of Arc Flash analysis and mitigation implementation highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of engineering tools such as but not limited to ProE, AutoCAD, Microstation, Windchill, SKM,
MathCAD is required.
- Working knowledge of control systems and laboratory software products such as but not limited to Rockwell Automation
product suite (RS Logix, etc.), Labview, GE Fanuc product suite is required.
- In depth knowledge of TOSC / JSOG Operational Procedures relative to Design, System Engineering, Software
development and Project Management is highly desirable.
- Functional Knowledge of NASA software and IT security policies is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of drawing standards utilized by GSDO, ISS, LSP, KSC heritage, and SLS OEMs is highly desirable.
- Computer experience with Maximo, Solumina, Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and outlook is highly
desirable.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.
