Collins Aerospace is looking for an Associate Director, Engineering who will manage a department that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or supervisors in General Engineering. You will establish the key priorities in work flow processes, and oversee the execution of resource allocations to ensure optimization of strategy and implementation.

**Hired employee must reside or be willing to relocate to the Foley, AL, regional area. No remote work is available.**

Primary Responsibilities

* Owns the execution of long-term strategy including cost reduction and process and product improvements.
* Solves complex manufacturing problems and exerts influential leadership over team and among peers.
* Directs activities for a small to medium department that includes multiple groups of engineering or technical personnel involved in designing, fabricating, modifying or testing products.
* Evaluates and oversees the budget, schedule, and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs, oversees optimization strategy implementation, and ensures strategic usage of resources.
* Manages major responsibilities across multiple engineering disciplines on a regular basis.
* Performs engineering activities that may not be attributed to a defined discipline.
* Oversee professional employees who perform activities across several disciplines at other manufacturing sites.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelors degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR Advance degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
* Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder.

Qualifications

* Experience leading multiple teams across various engineering groups.
* Experience communicating and making presentations to senior and executive leadership.
* Experienced in introducing new products to production.
* Able to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally (when environment permits)
* MRB Stress experience
* PMP certification highly desired.
* CI/Lean Experience.
* SAP experience.
* Expertise in aerospace and/or defense systems.
