Basic Function

The position of Operations Team Coordinator (OTC) includes multiple tasks that ultimately provide good manufacturing practices and on time delivery to the customer. The individual is responsible for the coordination and coaching members of a multi-duty team. The OTC is additionally responsible for assisting the production managers and supervisors in training and managing the team as well as acting in a supervisory role as requested.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Comply with and encourage team members to adhere to all safety requirements resulting in zero safety violations. This includes participating in all safety related activities such as safety talks, behavioral based safety observations, audits, etc.
* Encourage team to meet individual and team goals
* Monitor product and process conditions throughout the shift
* Promote and maintain a team environment that encourages employees to get engaged in the operation and take ownership of tasks
* Recommend to team and management where improvements can be made
* Assist with troubleshooting related to process and quality concerns, optimization of production efficiency
* Assign work to operators as needed
* Ensure operators follow standard operating procedures and conduct operator training as necessary
* Complete and submit all required forms and reports such as shift production reports, summary sheets, end of shift reports and any other required documents
* Maintain time and attendance records
* Conform to safe work practices and compliant to corporate safety program

Min. Qualifications

* 2 years experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment or similar capacity
* Forklift operation experience
* Proficient knowledge of plastics processing equipment
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Ability to work well with a team and independently
* Effective problem solver
* Ability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed
* Ability to apply basic mathematics skills
* Ability to work proactively and support other personnel and departments.
* Possess a professional attitude and strong interpersonal skills in leading and mentoring team members
* Maintain good attendance habits

Work Environment and Physical Demands

* Stand on feet for 8-12 hours
* Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
* Ability to work with fiberglass among other potentially hazardous materials
* Willing and able to comply with respiratory fit testing (where applicable)
* Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required to be worn
* Ability to work in moderate noise level atmosphere
* Ability to work in an environment that is not temperature-controlled; very warm temperatures in summer months
* Able to periodically travel to client sites
