About this role

What will you be responsible for?

Within Technical Services, the Asset Management Group provides strategic leadership and support for Newmonts asset management portfolio. It aims to ensure that Newmonts asset management processes and capabilities are a source of sustainable and considerable competitive advantage for Newmont. This is achieved by focusing on business process standardization, proactive teamwork, competency and capability development, maintenance and reliability practices, relevant global productivity metrics and targeted value-adding asset lifecycle cost improvements. The group is focused on the basics in a manner that is aligned with our philosophy of continuous improvement.

Within the Asset Management organization, the Director, Asset Management Engagement will:

* Cascade and ensure team understanding of company and functional strategy.
* Achieve excellence through identifying strategies and targets that fulfill organizational/functional needs.
* Enhance results through continuous improvement - develop and deliver multi-year functional improvement plans.
* Establish and ensure compliance with policies and standards management and business planning processes, and results.
* Align talent, resources and priorities within the AM engagement function and site talent pipeline.
* Continuously apply risk management processes and take corrective action in timely manner.
* Apply business judgment to solve significant problems and make difficult decisions taking into account factors beyond functional boundaries.
* Make leadership decisions with a long-term, sustainable development view regarding results.
* Integrate health & safety into the functional strategy; lead health & safety performance improvement; establish zero harm as a core values.
* Reinforce environmental and social responsibility as a value and business imperative within the function.
* Role model Newmont values and demonstrating the global operating model in terms of behaviors.
* Develop succession plan and increased interpersonal Asset Management bench strength.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:

Primary business partnership interfaces:

* We productivity VPs, Site GMs, Site Asset Managers, TS Leadership Team, Value Assurance, and Asset Management Leadership Team (Corporate) including the Operational Support Hubs (in Denver and Perth), and the Energy Management Team.
* We are responsible to provide service delivery for the AM related requests/inquiries from VPPs & Site GMs, Project Management of AM related projects at site level (such as Full Potential projects), responsible for the delivery of AM Corporate business plan and assigned tasks, resource and budget management through the annual budgeting process.

AM Regional/Site Engagement and Execution

* We provide leadership and accountability for regional/site AM related projects, act as customer facing element of the AM Corporate function site relationships and support, provide mentoring/coaching to site AM teams, provide feedback to Director AM Systems & Standards, and areas of focus.

Leadership - Asset Management Competency Development

* We overall accountability for the delivery and successful implementation of AM Competency Framework and associated training, provide feedback to Site Leadership on talent assessments, provide ongoing mentoring/coaching to AM teams, ensure routine audit of Competency records and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of program.

Global Strategic Equipment Planning & Life Cycle Management

* We provide strategic direction on Equipment Strategy effectiveness and ongoing improvement work-scope; ensure Equipment Strategy Standardization project is efficiently implemented across the Newmont operating portfolio; provide guidance/direction on areas of opportunity in relation to equipment strategy and/or associated master data (SAP/AMT etc).

Global Equipment Productivity Performance / Asset Metrics

* We provide direction to portfolio assets and ensure global equipment performance is supervised appropriately, with variances to plan captured and addressed in consistent and effective manner,. Align closely with VPPs and site leadership, as well as Operational Support Hub SMEs to review performance outputs with recommendations on areas of continuous improvement, and drive executable actions/insights with site personnel.

Business Improvement & Operational Excellence Programs

* We provide strategic direction and leadership for AM on Full Potential projects particularly the project design and definition phases, with oversight on agreed site AM related projects (post SteerCo 4 stage for FP). Provide SME reviews of capital investment requests, supporting Value Assurance team and processes, as well as stewardship of Heavy Mobile Equipment Global Guidelines.

Strategic management of Equipment Life Cycle Plan and associated cost models

* We provide strategic direction globally for AMT users (zero based budgeting tool for maintenance), establish system & processes for AM members to develop Life Cycle Costs for relevant fleet/plant (from Equip Strategy work-scope), provide oversight on site OPEX budgets and Capital requests, establish regular review process for site cost performance using AMT centerlines against actuals (each quarter).

Your training, skills, and experience checklist

Here is what we would need to see from you!

* Bachelors degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent) with over 15 years experience in mining, or similar heavy industry.
* Held site based senior leadership roles within General, Asset and/or Operation management, with >15 years experience at Manager or above.
* Significant experience developing operational budgets and performing capital evaluations.
* Significant demonstrated experience in implementing Asset Management principles and standard methodologies across multi-site portfolio and countries.
* Significant demonstrated experience developing and delivering on business strategies that improve Asset Management performance, reliability and safety, reducing operating costs and maximizing return on assets in sophisticated organizations and different cultures through leadership of technical specialists and diverse teams.
* Significant demonstrated experience in strategic leadership in implementing and improving asset management practices and project management methodologies.
* Significant demonstrated experience with change, communication and knowledge management methodologies.

Working conditions & location

Where you will be located!

* The position is located in Denver, USA.
* The position requires national and international travel to assist Newmonts global operations.
* Flexible hours to accommodate global meeting times.
* Willingness to put in extra hours as projects and priorities dictate.

The salary range offered for this role is $148,160 to 194,460. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidates salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the companys performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
