We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Maintenance Mechanic at our Manufacturing Facility located in Pedricktown, New Jersey.
Main Function:
- Perform reliable mechanical repairs on all plant process equipment.
- Education: Minimum requirement will be completion of Secondary formal education or equivalent, i.e. GED.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:
-Understand and comply with all written site and corporate safety, health and environmental procedures. Attend all required scheduled Health, Safety and Environmental training sessions.
- Participate in required Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security initiatives and programs such as Management of Change procedures, Process Hazard Reviews, EVI system, Planned Inspections, Hazard Cognition Programs, etc.
-Performs reliable mechanical repairs on all plant process equipment.
-Troubleshoots, fabricates, modifies, removes, repairs, overhauls, or replaces parts or equipment involved directly or indirectly with chemical processes or associated support equipment in a safe, cost efficient and environmentally responsible manner.
- Performs safety, quality, and environmental inspections as assigned.
- Participates in special information or problem-solving teams as requested.
- Maintains craft skills over time to insure ability to complete assigned work.
- Attends company or vendor training as directed.
- Utilizes the Maintenance files and other engineering data as a resource in solving plant mechanical problems.
- Performs recordkeeping required to properly document inspections and repairs performed.
- Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System to record time and attendance, document repair notes, review repair history, obtain materials from Stores, etc.
- Cooperates with other employees in a team atmosphere to solve plant problems and achieve plant goals.
- Identifies the need for and obtains the necessary parts, tools, equipment, materials, and supplies to safely perform assigned work.
- Identifies and evaluates alternative plans of action required to solve mechanical failures.
- Completes the necessary activities to comply with the requirements of the Routine Maintenance Work Process Accountability/Responsibility Matrix as found in the Routine maintenance Work Process Manual.
- Performs regular housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Complies with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations. Assignment, Review and Approval of Work:
- Receives assignments from the Maintenance Team Leader. Responsibility and Decision -Making Authority:
- Shutdown unsafe operations or tasks.
Work Conditions:
1. Work will be performed throughout the entire plant. This individual may be required to work overtime as necessary. Safety equipment will be worn as appropriate for the specific plant area/task.
2. Normal hours will be straight 10-hour days Monday through Thursday except where schedule is modified as required and carry a pager to be available for rotating on-call duty and emergencies.
3. Will adhere to all plant HESS procedures and actively support all plant HESS programs
Qualifications
Experience and knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
- Minimum of three years experience in industrial mechanical millwright work
- Must be able to pass NCCER certification for maintenance millwright
- Must be skilled in the following: pump maintenance, mechanical seal rebuilds, equipment alignments, gearbox repairs, fan & Blower repairs, pipe fitting, safe use of shop tools, basic machining skills, basic welding skills, proper rigging knowledge.
- Computer skills including Word, SAP, Excel, Access, Outlook
