POSITION INFORMATION
This position within the Northrop Grumman Law Department will support the Company rsquo;s Missions Systems sector. Counsel will provide a broad array of legal advice and service in support of U.S. and international government contracting as well as commercial contracting. In addition to the provision of counsel directly to executives and other business partners within the sector, responsibilities will include the supervision of outside counsel, and coordinating with various legal specialists inside the company to support litigation, internal investigations, intellectual property, export, ethics and anti-corruption, employment, and other matters impacting the business. Succeeding in this fast-paced environment requires strong leadership skills, demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, commitment to innovation and continuous process improvement, and ownership of results. Counsel must demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethical behavior in exercising impeccable judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
The position reports to Northrop Grumman rsquo;s Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Mission Systems Sector Counsel (located in Linthicum Maryland) and is located in Linthicum, Maryland; or possibly in McLean, Virginia.
Qualification
QUALIFICATIONS amp; SKILLS
Education:
bull; J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.
bull; Member of the State Bar in the applicable location, capable of being licensed through testing or comity, or, in lieu of licensure, capable of registering as an in-house counsel in accordance with the rules of the applicable State Bar.
Experience and Preferred Qualifications:
bull; Exceptional integrity, outstanding analytical skills and strategic thinking, and exceptional judgment.
bull; 12 or more years of relevant experience at one or more top law firms, government agencies and/or in-house legal departments.
bull; Significant experience with contracting and subcontracting on government programs including proposal development negotiations, risk mitigation, contract performance, dispute resolution, bid protests and supplier and partnering arrangements.
bull; Excellence in analyzing legal concepts and ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, including all levels within the organization, from executive leadership to first-line supervisors, customer representatives and attorneys, and all levels of Government agency personnel.
bull; Ability to provide accurate, timely, and pragmatic advice.
bull; Ability to promote and contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages and supports inclusion to drive innovation and reach the best solutions to complex problems.
bull; Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to balance multiple competing priorities.
bull; Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment.
bull; Proven success leading teams and driving for results in a matrixed organization.
bull; Eligible to obtain or active U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
