Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager of Tool Die Making 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate will manage a program or a function within the larger organizational unit, setting and operating to objectives and providing guidance to subordinates based on goals, objectives and company policy.

The Tool Die Making Manager will lead a group of non-exempt employees who have the responsibilities of building and fabricating composite tools for several programs. This position is also responsible for supporting the maintenance of other program tooling areas with direct support to ACC (Advance Composite Center).

Essential Functions:

- Provide leadership and direction to section team members, ensuring members have sufficient statement of work

- Manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)

- Coordinate with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed

- Ensure that employees are familiar with and use required tooling processes and procedures

- Estimate cost, schedule, and technical performance for a specific unit or large contract work packages while keeping in step with program performance schedules

- Act with speed and urgency to implement area process enhancements to improve affordability, quality and schedule

- Monitor the performance of exempt and/or non-exempt employees on a daily basis and actively assist and/or provide direction to subordinates as required

- This position will support 1st Shift on a 9/80 work schedule, including weekend support as necessary

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor 39;s Degree with 1 year experience in a Tooling or Manufacturing/Production environment; OR High School diploma/GED with 4 years rsquo; experience Tooling or Manufacturing/Production environment will be accepted in lieu of degree

- 1 year of Leadership experience

- Experience with MS Office products including Word, Outlook and Excel

- Experience with Catia

- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance issued by the DoD as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor 39;s degree

- 2 or more years rsquo; experience as a Lead or supervisor in a tooling/ shop environment

- Aerospace and Defense experience
