CORE HV PRODUCT ENGINEER
JOB LOCATION: SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN
As a member of the Wiring team, the Core HV Wiring Product Engineer will be responsible of:
Designing and developing automotive High Voltage wire harnesses using a focused and disciplined approach. Ownership of entire product development cycle of assigned part(s) including adherence to specification, quality, cost, weight and on time delivery.
Below is a synopsis of the general job responsibilities:
* Develop and Release Robust On Time Designs
* Ensure Adherence to Specification for Assigned Parts
* Ensure Design Meets Customer Requirements
* Track and Control Design Changes
* Support On Time Part Delivery
* Perform Root Cause Analysis
* Support Cost, Weight and Warranty Reduction Activities
* Support Harness/Vehicle Assembly Plants
* Work Cross Functionally with Customer, Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.
* Support Wire Harness Complexity Generation
* Support Design Reviews
* Support HV quoting activities
* Support HV Technical Presentations
The Hour by Hour Task Breakdown:
Meeting with peers and customer to brainstorm and create requirements from scratch (20% of day)
Design reviews, component management and print drafting / release (20% of day)
Feature development, product / vehicle reviews and failure modes analysis (40% of day)
Support HV quoting process (20%)
Qualifications:
* Experience in high voltage wire harness design engineering
* Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* Ability to Work as Part of Cross Functional Team
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Ability and Willingness to Travel
* Flexible on working locations, on or offsite
Bonus If You Have:
Experience with Capital XC 2D design
3D Design Experience
